An English Country Garden wedding for English rose bride Laura
What a beautiful home! Laura’s dad’s pad, (in Pulborough, Surrey) was the venue for her English Country Garden wedding reception and it was literally, like a page out of Homes and Gardens magazine! Centred around a marquee in the garden, the place was full of gorgeous flowers and Pimms being poured and Laura, being the English rose that she already is was suitably made-up to fit the bill.
Laura’s hair type was soft and fine so I used the magic potion ‘Powder Grip’ by Redken which gives hair a matt texture, (for pins to grip on to) and a bit of back combing to give the lift and height on the top and crown of Laura’s head. I curled Laura’s hair then pinned up loosely, but neatly at the back in the centre and let a few strands, literally strands, fall out around her face. A soft but neat up ‘do that wasn’t going to fall out was the main brief – Laura didn’t want to have to worry about her hair moving, (she even toyed with hair pieces but decided it was too much of a ‘false’ look that didn’t sit right with her) what we ended up with was a soft tousled look that looked amazingly ‘fresh’ and suited her beautiful swirly dress.
Luckily Laura has amazing skin and gorgeous features to work with so it made it very easy for me to do my job! Pretty and flawless is what we went for with a few individual lashes to give it that extra special twinkle. I used my favourite eye shadow palette of the moment – the MAC Veluxe Pearl Fusion in PinkLuxe using the deep violet shade to line Laura’s eyes on her top lid. Lipstick was her own.
More pics to follow, (when I have the ones from Laura’s photographer!)
